I highly recommend a stay at the Grist Mill! We had a large group of 10 and had lots of space for socializing and dining. Nice bedrooms with picturesque views overlooking the water and the beds were super comfortable. A highlight for our group was the entertainment room where we could all gather together at the end of the day. We loved the location - a close walk to all the Westport shops and hiking trails. Because our visit was in November, we didn't make good use of the deck or patio area which is right on the water. But we will on our next trip! We will definitely be back!

Rented the house for an executive retreat. The location was fantastic within walking distance of a restaurant and a micro-brewery. The main 2 things that had an impact for our group other than fantastic rooms with views was the use of the Game Room and the use of the meeting area in the basement. The games room had everything for our group of 7 to share and play. From ping-pong to arcade to board games, it created an atmosphere of play and laughs as we gathered for the first time since Covid. The boardroom had a massive table and TV that acted as our Audio Visual with room to move around and share/discuss. It permitted us to have plenty of space and it didn't feel like a boardroom. I would recommend Jf's place for your executive retreat.

We spent four very special nights and days at the historic Gristmill Place in Westport with great friends. Everyone was blown away by the location, accommodation and fabulous hosts. JF and Kathy have thought of everything to make a stay at the Gristmill Place a special experience. The bedrooms are comfy, decorated to make you feel right at home and the ones we used on the main floor all had ensuites. There are two incredible kitchens and dining spaces with anything you might need to make memorable meals. Don't miss the bakery down the street - their butter tarts (including GF) are the stuff of legends. We had good weather, so were able to enjoy the many lovely patio spaces and even had a fire in the outdoor fireplace. The hydrobikes made for an adventure as well as a pleasant tour of the lakefront. We took advantage of the playground that the area offers - golfing, hiking, lunching at a local winery, shopping and enjoying live music and dinner across the street at a local Inn. We also spent many hours in the games room, earning bragging rights at shuffleboard, pool and bumper pool. Honestly, I cannot say enough about the property and the thoughtful touches of the hosts. I would highly recommend a stay at the Gristmill Place and hope to return again soon!

Our stay was outstanding…everyone was really impressed with the space and the beautiful job you have done renovating/restoring the house! The lower level beautiful dining table and 8 foot tall Terminator statue in the games room were the two biggest talking points with everyone!!! All the bedrooms were clean, well equipped and very comfortable. Again we really loved it and hope to be back soon!!!!

Incredible place right on the water in the heart of Westport. The pictures can’t do this place justice, such a beautiful building and the location is perfect! Great for large groups, lots of space to spread out and every corner of the house seems to reveal a new secret!

We had a wonderful family vacation at the Gristmill! It was conveniently located right in town, so we could walk to the grocery, drug store, local brewery and winery as well as restaurants. We spent the days on a rented bow rider that we could dock on the property and the evenings were spent playing in the games room with the windows open so that we could hear the live music from across the street at The Cove. The house was clean and spacious with several options for eating inside and outside. We made some great meals using the downstairs kitchen with access to the bbq and smoker. We could easily imagine how fun it would be to spend any season in this home. Great for a large family get together. JFnKathy and Dayna were gracious hosts. Thank you for your hospitality!

The Gristmill Place is an amazing venue in the heart of the village - we loved being able to walk to the bakery, the microbrewery, shopping and restaurants (it's right across the road from the Cove Inn where we could hear live music on the patio in the evening)! The house itself is very comfortable (almost every bedroom has an en suite washroom) and easily accommodates large groups. The two kitchens are both well set-up with everything you need; we gravitated to using the upper kitchen for breakfast with it's bright and airy views over the water and the lower kitchen with easy access to the courtyard (with BBQ and smoker!) for dinner. And the dining room on the lower level is epic, boasting a gorgeous table with blue resin inlay that can easily seat 20 people. Also, this review would not be complete without mentioning the games room: we played some intense pool tournaments while watching the Olympics on the 85" TV (not to mention the shuffleboard, dartboard, and arcade games). Beautiful memories to take home with us - thank you for sharing The Gristmill Place JF & Kathy, and thank you Dayna for all your cheerful help and advice (including renting us an awesome pontoon boat)!

You will not be disappointed with your stay at the Grist Mill Place in Westport. This is a very spacious, beautifully renovated house, close to all that Westport has to offer. Your hosts have covered everything; including two well equipped kitchens, comfortable beds and basic bathroom supplies. Our group enjoyed bathrooms with each bedroom, the large table that allowed everyone to eat together and the outdoor space to sit and enjoy the view of the Rideau. In addition to being downtown and in walking distance to the winery, restaurants, shops and the marina, the house offers a great games room, as well as activities for the water. We were able to keep our 19 foot boat at the dock right at the house. The hosts were very responsive and easy to connect with. I appreciated being able to ask questions about the house when planning for this trip and I also appreciated the one point contact during our stay. This was overall a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
